Vent-Axia Launches Simple Solution To Condensation Control

PoziDry ProVent-Axia, the UK’s leading ventilation company, has launched the PoziDry Pro™ Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) unit.

Designed to improve indoor air quality (IAQ) in social housing properties the PoziDry Pro™ provides a highly effective solution to help landlords control mould and condensation, as well as offering high levels of air filtration. Boasting quick and simple installation for contractors the PoziDry Pro™ is a highly energy efficient ventilation unit that is unobtrusive, near silent and helps provide a healthy environment for residents.

For landlords the PoziDry Pro™ offers the perfect solution for hard to cure mould and condensation properties by improving IAQ and preventing moisture build-up within the home. Boasting Smart Sense™ intelligent technology, the PoziDry Pro™ provides data via an intuitive interface to communicate the fan’s energy performance so landlords can reassure residents of the low-running costs. Meanwhile, to ensure PoziDry Pro™ is working effectively to combat mould and condensation its datalogger records a number of different factors including recording length of time spent on each speed, which helps to identify properties with high humidity as they spend longer on higher speeds. The datalogger can also show remaining filter life. This data can be used in disrepair cases or to inform and reassure the resident.

For contractors the PoziDry Pro™ features tried and tested Smart Sense™ technology making installation quick and simple thanks to a simple alpha numeric LED display which is clear and easy to read and a three-button menu for commissioning and data gathering. With the unit sized to fit all standard loft hatches, the PoziDry Pro™ is a lightweight easy one-man-lift with an easy-grip handle moulded into the unit to make carrying it through the loft easy. The unit also comes pre-attached with filters to further speed up installation.

Traditionally PIV units are available with hanging kits only but to ensure an easy install first time the PoziDry Pro™ features two mounting options as standard; multi-position mounting legs and a hanging kit. This ensures the PoziDry Pro™ is suitable for a wider range of homes. The PoziDry Pro’s mounting legs offer installation versatility, especially where a roof has a shallow pitch. Designed to fit any 400mm to 600mm joist centres, the mounting legs raise the PIV above potential loft insulation.

Noisy ventilation systems are not acceptable for residents. The PoziDry Pro™ guarantees silent running through a number of noise reducing features. Anti-vibration mounts on both the motor and feet stop any reverberation and the unique acoustic legs dissipate any vibrations ensuring whisper quiet operation.

Meanwhile PoziDry Pro™ helps provide a healthy home. A raft of research has shown IAQ has become a problem as a result of properties becoming better insulated. In UK homes 25% are poorly ventilated causing condensation and mould issues which can lead to health issues for residents. PoziDry Pro™ helps to reduce this risk since the unit quickly eradicates conditions that lead to condensation and mould growth. Plus it features unique filter choices making improving IAQ easy. With a G4 filter as standard to ensure air coming into the property does not contain pollens or other similar particulates the PoziDry Pro’s filter is high quality, easy to change and washable allowing the landlord or tenant to easily replace the filters. However, with social housing having a duty of care to their residents the PoziDry Pro™ takes IAQ one step further offering the option of F7 filters which can filter down to PM2.5 which includes particulates such as diesel emissions – great for urban areas.

Featuring the latest Lo-Carbon technology motor with a backward curved impeller PoziDry ProTM offers increased efficiency, lower running costs, a reduced carbon footprint and ultra-low noise levels. Meanwhile, the Smart Sense™ control also allows multiple configurations so the PoziDry Pro™ can be commissioned to meet the needs of the property and the resident. Quick and easy to select, it offers a bespoke solution where performance or noise is key.

Operating by drawing in fresh air via the loft from outside, PoziDry Pro™ filters all incoming air removing nasty contaminates via the high grade G4 or F7 filters before gently introducing it into the habitable areas of the property. The diffuser directs the airflow upwards where the incoming air mixes with the warm air that gathers at ceiling height. The system provides fresh, tempered air that is drier than the inside air, so creates a healthy indoor environment helping to avoid condensation and mould, benefiting both the occupants and the structure of the building.

Utilising sensors to monitor internal air temperature in the loft, the PoziDry Pro™ automatically adjusts the air volume when necessary and provides partial heat recovery. The fan automatically varies its speed to either ‘trickle’ or ‘normal’ depending on the ambient temperature measured. If the ambient temperature reaches 28°C, the Lo-Carbon PoziDry Pro™ will automatically switch to standby to avoid overheating in summer.

PoziDry Pro™ is also available with an optional easy to install heater which tempers the fresh air before it is introduced into the dwelling through the diffuser. This flexible heater can either be mounted on the PoziDry Pro™, or to minimise heat loss it can be mounted at diffuser level, thus saving energy, decreasing heat loss and reducing costs.

PoziDry Pro™ offers reliable and effective ventilation with a 5-year warranty, protecting residents’ homes from condensation and mould and offering peace of mind for landlords.
