Legrand has broadened the scope of its Synergy wiring devices and enhanced its provision of products for the healthcare sector by launching a new range of sockets that meet the requirements stipulated in the Medical Electrical Installation Guidance Notes (MEIGaN).
The range, which incorporates 1 and 2 gang Isolated Power Supply (IPS) clean earth sockets in both switched and unswitched forms, is manufactured with dark blue coated stainless steel front plates and engraved with white lettering that reads Medical Equipment Only. Legrand marketing manager, Caroline Boden said: “MEIGaN was published in order to give healthcare organisations clear and very strict guidance in regards to permanent electrical wiring and installation in new, refurbished or upgraded healthcare establishments and transportable treatment rooms. “One of the key benefits of it is that the electrical products now being installed have been specifically designed for healthcare use and so can play a part in the fight against infection control. In regards to our Synergy MEIGaN sockets, we have ensured they have been designed with no gaps or indents where germs and bacteria could gather.” All of Legrand’s Synergy MEIGaN sockets are manufactured from high quality stainless steel for strength and durability, factors which are essential in hard working healthcare environments Legrand recently marked the fifth birthday of its Synergy range of wiring devices with a promotion aimed at broadening the appeal of the popular range. This involved prices reverting to the trade prices they were at when the range was launched in 2005 until June 30th, 2010. On top of that, Legrand is giving away free products throughout the promotional period, which marks a change from purely specification sales and project work to additional over the counter sales.
