Winder Electrical manufactures a range of distribution transformers, complying with the requirements of ESI 35-1 and BSEN60076 (2000) as applicable.
- Transformers can be free-breathing or hermetically sealed and are supplied complete with fittings to suit individual specifications.
- Hermetically sealed transformers can be either oil or synthetic liquid filled and have the advantage of being virtually maintenance-free. Synthetic liquid filled units can also be used indoors in environments where oil cannot be accepted.
- The high voltage flanges of the transformers are suitable for direct coupling to ring main units, fuse switches or oil switches, and the low voltage flanges are suitable for direct coupling to distribution pillars to form a complete substation.
- A typical specification for this type of transformer would be: 1,000kVA, 11000/433V no load, 3phase, 50Hz, oil immersed ONAN, Delta/Star connected to Vector Group reference Dyn11, tapped plus/minus 5% in 2.5 steps by means of an off circuit tapping switch. - Winder Electrical's distribution transformers are housed within robustly constructed, welded steel tanks, come complete with detachable type panel radiators, a skid underbase, high voltage and low voltage boxes, and are suitable for either air or compound terminations, lifting and jacking facilities and standard fittings.
