Siemens invests EUR30 million in switchgear manufacturing plant in Frankfurt |

Siemens Energy has invested over EUR30 million in the extension of its manufacturing plant for gas-insulated medium voltage switchgear in Frankfurt-Fechenheim, Germany. Furthermore the company erected an automated logistics center and a new customer information center. With more than 1000 employees Siemens produces over 70,000 gas-insulated switchgear panels for medium-voltage switchgear annually for more than 85 countries around the globe.
“With our plant here in Frankfurt we are demonstrating that cost-effective production of complex switchgear is also possible in Germany”, said Ralf Christian, CEO of the Power Distribution Division in the Siemens Energy Sector. “We have the requisite know in terms of research and development, and production technology. An important benefit provided by the location is that here we find the specialists and top-notch personnel that we need.”
Siemens is technology and world market leader in gas-insulated medium-voltage switchgear. These are the key components of modern power distribution networks.
