VPhase, a simple device which cuts household electricity costs by approximately 10% p.a. has been featured on BBC’s DIY: SOS The Big Build. The hour long programme saw the team transform an ex-council house in South Wales, Brynmawr into an eco-friendly family home by installing energy efficient technologies such as rainwater harvesting, solar panels and VPhase voltage optimisation.

Housing Association Trial Success for VPhase |

Following a three month social housing trial with Great Places Housing Group, VPhase has released independently analysed results showing energy savings of between 8.5% and 9.0% and estimated yearly CO₂ savings of up to 180kg per property. This equates to an average 3.6% of a households’ annual CO2 emissions and importantly, a significant proportion of many housing association’s overall CO2 reduction targets.

Following an audit by the Carbon Trust, various initiatives were discussed and the sports complex agreed a package of measures including low energy lamps and passive infra-red switches.

CP Electronics Detects the Light at Glan Usk |

The combination of T5 luminaires and lighting controls from CP Electronics has helped to achieve an excellent BREAMM rating at the new Glan Usk School in Newport, South Wales. The luminaires and controls were chosen by Building Services Contractor MJN Colston, who were responsible for the overall internal fit-out of the new education centre, which opened in January 2010.

The Flambards Experience, a Cornish amusement park, has almost halved its lighting outlay, after undertaking an energy-efficient lighting installation using innovative retrofit device, 'Save It Easy®'. As a result, the theme park has cut its electricity costs by more than £2,200 a year, while saving 12 tonnes of carbon each year.
