Harland Simon have designed and manufacture a range of IP54 enclosures used widely in the utilities and industrial market sectors. The IP54 enclosures are designed and approved by some of the world’s largest UPS manufacturers to ensure they are suitable for housing of the UPS’s offered. 
Padlock versions of EMKA’s popular 1107 and 1125 Swinghandles and of their slim line 2100 programme are designed to make life easier for specifiers/designers, fabricators and operators of specialist enclosures where a padlocking facility is required in corrosive environments. Use of stainless steel padlockable through-pillars, with reinforced polyamide bodies, offer a simple to fit solution as part of the structured EMKA system.
Power Engineering v4.1, is Rittal’s new version of planning and configuration software for type-tested low-voltage switchgear of their Ri4Power systems, Form 1, Form 2-4 and Ri4Power Form 1 ISV. The software offers quick and easy generation of quotations and bill of materials with better assembly information and the capability to view the side of the assembly, where part numbers and their location within the system are indicated.
Vero Technologies has introduced three styles of extruded aluminium instrument cases, designed to accept three quarter and full width Eurocard PCBs. Circuit boards are mounted horizontally into multi-position internal slots in the body of the case, which has a black anodised finish for good resistance to wear and tear and improved heat dissipation.

Professional tools are called for when enclosures and their climate control need to be correctly dimensioned. Rittal's Therm software performs complex calculations of climate control requirements. Now, Version 6.0 of Rittal Therm is available and it is making an impact with its advanced user interface and new assessment tools.
Enclosure specialist Schroff has launched a new dehumidifier system that is designed to remove moisture from the air within an enclosure, providing an inexpensive yet highly effective way to protect electronic and electrical components from condensation.

EMKA’s 1022 program quarter-turn locks – popularly known as “mini-locks” have the style and capability of their big brothers in a miniature package suitable for smaller cabinets, wall mount enclosures, access panels or other housings. They are very useful where space and design limitations demand easy operation as well as a good level of rugged serviceability. The 1022 program locks are also available with additional sealing rings for applications where protection to IP65 is important – and for heavy dust environments a special dust cap can further improve sealing capability.

The Modular Gland Plate is a versatile flange system with sealing inserts that can be changed depending on your needs. You are no longer forced to use fixed flanges with a certain number of predetermined openings. You can now decide for yourself what size openings and how many you want in your flange.
How often do we see greater flexibility for less cost? Well, EMKA’s new 3 point cam adapter offers just that. It converts a low cost single point cam into a cam for a 3 point locking system. This gives enclosure manufacturers a much reduced stock requirement for varying cabinet door sizes, typically leading to a 40% reduction in stock costs on this component type.
The benefits of reduced energy consumption and improved performance by adding cold aisles to rows of data centre servers are well know, but if the cabinets in the row are, as is often the case, of different heights, retrofit implementation has previously been difficult, requiring custom components. Schroff UK, one of Europe’s leading suppliers of datacoms infrastructure hardware, has developed a simple low cost modular system of standard components that solves the problem in an effective and elegant manner.
Rittal’s new SK3120.200 is an electronic speed control for 2-pole single-phase AC motors which replaces the older controllers SK3120.000 and SK3120.115. The new device has a supply range from 100v to 230v 50/60Hz in one unit and is a simple snap fit onto standard 35mm support rails, which makes it easier to position within the enclosure.
New from enclosure specialist Schroff is the ZonEX range of stainless-steel wall-mount enclosures, which are ATEX certified for housing electronic or electrical equipment in Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous locations.
The innovative EMKA CAN-BUS ELM cabinet locking and monitoring system is even simpler with their 3000 Program 19” RMU. This takes advantage of the ELM system modularity to provide a complete cabinet system in a compact 1U housing for quick and easy installation.
We are all aware of the need to protect electrical installations from the weather, and with the increasing use of electronic equipment in external, and often remote, locations, most enclosure manufacturers provide adequate protection from the elements for the internal products.
The well proven EMKA 1000 series of quarter turn locks has received a very significant upgrade which enables an improved level of sealing. Customers may now order the new IP66 option, with the result that panel builders can now readily achieve higher sealing specification for completed cabinets, which is demanded for food processing industries and outdoor environments where high levels of sealing are required to meet safety considerations so as to protect against driving rain and hosing-down with power washers.
Rittal has now been awarded the prize for outstanding achievements in innovation in Germany, with its ‘Thermoelectric cooler’ which won through in the ‘Industry category’ against tough competition from over 100 rival products. The judges were impressed by the cooling unit’s green credentials and performance.
EMKA have announced their 1016 self-adhesive gasket is now available in fire resistant versions to UL94 VO and 94HB ratings, also in EMC formats to address electrical and magnetic interference. The expanded closed-cell neoprene comes in stock strips from 3mm to 80mm thick and in standard widths from 10mm up to 80mm, with complete custom capability, e.g. for sheets and punched shapes.
