PHILIPS Strenghtens Outdoor Lighting Portfolio PDF Print E-mail

philipsPHILIPS announced today that it will acquire the street lighting controls activities of Amplex A/S, a Denmark-based provider of energy-efficient solutions. Upon closing of this transaction during the third quarter of 2010, which is subject to certain contractual and other conditions, the acquired business will become part of the Lighting Electronics business within the Philips Lighting sector. Financial details of this agreement were not disclosed.

New Offshore Wind Farm for Wales PDF Print E-mail

RWE Innogy, Stadtwerke München (SWM - Munich Municipal Utility) and Siemens have entered into a joint venture to build the offshore wind farm Gwynt y Môr (Welsh for “wind in the sea”). RWE Innogy will hold a 60% stake in this joint venture, Stadtwerke München 30% and Siemens 10%. The total investment amounts to more than two billion Euros, including the grid connection to the coast.
